Farming simulator 17 weeders7/31/2023 ![]() Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions. Any better advice for better weed control so I can get the best harvest? I’m not sure I’m doing the steps in the best order to get maximum yield, or if this is about the best I can do. ![]() Skipped to the next day still 75% weeds(?), I have managed to get to zero right now on one of these crops using a weeder followed by an immediate spray of herbicide. Immediately after harvest I sprayed herbicide, then sowed my crop, again direct seed. ![]() So sadly, I had to harvest that season with 50% weeds on everything. I had a bunch of weeds and I think despite a weeder and herbicide I could only get them to 50%, for some reason the weeds had already grown to 100% and I understand once they’re fully mature you can only get them down to 50%. What is the proper advice for weed control to avoid weeds being present? On my last harvest, I fertilized right after harvest and direct seeded so that I had my seeds down and the second fertilizer state. (But I CERTAINLY like they they are trying to include things like this in the base game)Īnd I play with the Timescale mod and move pretty quickly, so weeds were a pretty frequent issue that just got tedious and unnecessary.Playing PC, still new back to FS22. ![]() They're very different in price and specs, but I don't understand the differences the text descriptions are the same, very generic. I notice that there are only two items in the 'weeder' category of the base game. It just seems the a gimmicky add-in right now. Pneumaticstar 900 weeder Currently on sale in my game is the Einbck Pneumaticstar 900, an expensive weeder. I wish we could do preventative spraying for weeds in a more predictive manner. I didn’t like the weeds system either because of two reasons, one practical and one that’s just for me. I’d eventually harvest through it, and don’t think there were negative yields from it. They were animated as dead weeds, so I figured that, for lack of terms, filled the void left in the field by not having weeds. And (for your first question) No, they would not grow back, even though the crop progressed. The map assured me I was doing it all right, otherwise I would’ve remembered that being a main issue. I would spray herbicide, since the weeder doesn’t work on large weeds. I’m getting back into them with Seasons though.īut what I recall in my earlier sessions, is the weeds would be taller (their final growth stage) than the crop would be during its growth stage. I just turned them off in most of my later play throughs. I still think weeds need work to enhance them. I might be able to answer my own question very shortly (new crops being planted now), but I wondered what others have found? I had to do it a second time over that part of the field (the map also showed weeds again, in this area only). Later, the part of the field that was visually clear of weeds, had weeds. I weeded using the weeder which did remove actual weeds, but I also did the part of the field that visually had no weeds, but the map showed it did.Īfter weeding, the map showed the weeds were gone. I had a field that was 80% weeds, yet the map showed 100% coverage. I'm trying to understand how exactly this works. What if you plant a crop, then use herbicide without any weeds at all. I understand if you weed a field before a crop is planted, the weeds can grow again during the growth stage of the crop, but what happens if you put herbicide down after planting a crop and after weeds started to appear? Do any weeds grow at all afterwards?
